The
Sunshine State Games have been awarded to Polk county for 2009. Splitting the Indoor did so well for the archers and for FAA that we are going to split another shoot this year as well. Just in case you hadn't noticed gas is $4.00 a gallon. Ft Lauderdale Archers and Tri State Archers in Tallahassee are going to split the NAA Indoor and the NFAA Indoor like we did this year. Ft Lauderdale will be in February and Tallahassee will be in March. Also Ft Lauderdale Archers and Gator Bowman are going to split the Marked 3-D. That will be held on the same weekend with the same yardages and targets. Henry E. Smith – Age 87 (22 March 1921 – 18 May 2008) Check the Obit page for more information. Just wanted to let you all know that Fort Lauderdale Archers Member Vic Wunderle has once again become a member of the U.S. Olympic Archery Team!!!!!!! Third Team in a row!!! For those of you that do not know Vic, he has been training at Ft Lauderdale Archery club for the past few years. Vic is the quiet guy you saw with the Mathews Olympic Recurve(yes Mathews!) shooting on the FITA range all day, while most of slung a few arrows for an hour or two. Most practice days consisted of 400-500 arrows at 70 meters(77Yards) and farther usually in the gold ring or not far from it! Vic has been a member of the 2000 and 2004 U.S. Olympic Archery Team. At the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000 Vic earned an Individual Silver and Team Bronze Medal! Watch the Olympic Games either on TV or online in august and cheer on your fellow club member!!!! Visit vicwunderle.com to learn more about Vic, his accomplishments, and more updates on the road to Beijing. We are very proud of you Vic!! The FAA

the Web Master at the same time as it is sent to the publisher.

The State Target is going to shoot the Classic 600 on Sunday instead of a 900 round. The
March 2008 Release has been posted.
This needs to be passed
around and acted upon - It is specifically against NFAA
rules to draw above horizontal... it's also against NAA
rules. The practice of drawing a bow up in the air is
unsafe, and many archers do it due to heavy poundage or simply out of
bad habit. Pushing the bow out with the bow arm... or
better yet, pushing it slightly downward... can assist in drawing it
back. One arrow loosed high in the air and killing or
damaging property three blocks away can set our sport back for years...
much less ruin the day of the individual with the bow and the
individual harmed by it!
The
NFAA is running a
raffle this year... hunts of a lifetime with 1st place an African hunt,
also have a hunt with Ted Nugent for deer and another hunt for turkey
with a different guide. Oliver and Tim will have raffle
books with us when we attend events, and tickets can be purchased
direct from NFAA. $5 per ticket and $25 for a book of six.The 2009 National Senior
Games will be in San Francisco CA 1-15 August 2009
The 2011 National
Senior
Games will be in Houston TX 19 Jun - 5 Jul 2011
