Lou Bishop called me yesterday evening and indicated that she had taken Bill to the hospital where they indicated he had mild congestive heart failure.  As of  2:00 PM today I have not had further word and the home phone goes to an answering machine...

I just spoke to both Wilbur Duncan and Frank Gandy and Bill has been sent home from the hospital on an aspirin regimen.  Both Frank and Wilbur indicated that Bill looked really good and acted like he feels good.  Tim

Diane Watson (SE Pro Rep) is in the hospital following an accident on her motorcycle.  Someone turned in front of her and the motorcycle is totaled.  Diane has a broken wrist, a broken ankle, a broken upper arm, and a ruptured spleen.

Kim Oliver with the Newberry JOAD club has asked for donations to help the Watsons... link below.

http://www.newberryjoadclub.org/#!donations/cb60

I just called her number and Diane answered.  Had a nice conversation with her, but she is still in the hospital and sounds a bit depressed with her situation.  Her parents have flown in from the West coast, and she says that Paul is doing better (he has cancer).  They are trying to stretch her left arm to let the break come together and mend, and they'll take X-Rays in a few days to see if it is working.  Her right rist and ankle are in casts... bad scene...

Diane's address is 11815 Lakewood Dr, Hudson FL 34669.  cell phone 727-742-2496.  Email dianen2archery@aol.com

RIP Marihelen Rogers long time Executive Secretary of NFAA - check Obits.

NFAA is looking for hunting pictures for the Archery magazine.  If you have some you would like to share, please send them to Tim or Oliver with text of who is in the picture, where it was (the State the animal was shot in <not - it was alive> we are not looking for the address of your hunting site) and what kind of animal if it is not obvious.  I will create a Hunting Picture page and of course the Release would want to use the picture as well.  Thanks.  Oliver.

IMPORTANT.  John Laudicina had all of his archery equipment stolen at the Everglades range.  Please be on the lookout for it.  Here is information about it from John.

I am telling you all this, please keep your eyes open for my archery gear!

Yesterday at the club some piece of shit stole all of my compound equipment in one grab.  My custom leather quiver with 14 ace 570 arrows with ruby red vanes, 6 new never shot arrows, was going to break them in.

My case filled with back up scopes , binoculars, releases tools ect. This is what I grab when I go out of town to shoot tournaments, loaded with back up gear.

Of coarse my alpha elite black out color with kevin green strings and cables, black axcel sight vipor 6x scope with red up pin and fuse stabilizer system.

Nikon monarch 10x42 binoculars, Nikon range finder, all my tools for the compound bow and 3 back up scopes with lenses specialty archers small scopes.  2 release aids one black one blue, tru ball ultra sweet spot 3.

The case was a skb soft case in camo color.

The bow was assembled hanging on the rack, quiver next to it and case opened on the bench, this was a brave M.F. All I can say is it is a good thing I did not see him, he would have lead in his car or body!

I figure if I had the money to replace all of the gear it would be over 8,000.  As you all know I buy used so not so bad but 18 years of collecting gear.

It was all hanging up on our flint range, I was showing a group of 13 year old boys the lake area they were there for a birthday party, I shot a balloon at 55 yards and. Was teaching them archery, for a break I took the group on a quick tour of the lake area, there was a federal police officer shooting in the broad head pits.  When we came out the safe path he was on the phone to 911 and told me that a small silver Nissan or Hyundai a guy came out and grabed my stuff and he yelled at him guy hauled ass jumped in the car they sped off and hit the front fence post so they had front end damage to their car, and gone.

Police came for what ever that is worth

I am telling you this so please spread the word, maybe some of it will turn up,  the quiver is a one of a kind, Shelly has one in light brown, mine was dark brown.  Everything else is replaceable.

I am in shock, I can not afford to replace this stuff at this point of my life, I am out of the game.

Keep your eyes open and please spread the word our tournament community is small so I do believe some of it might show up.

When I shoot at the club I leave the gate open so we get new members, this will not be happening, the gate must be Locked after you enter and leave, we have predators scoping out the club, I do not want any one else to feel what I am going through now, feel like I have been rapped.

Any news or info please call me. 305-582-2263

These 2 pieces of shit need to be put away, our society does not need them.  I did not see them but they were described to the police as in early 30s guy who grabbed the equipment short and stocky, Mexican looking that is what he said not my words! Small mustache, driver looked same age range.

Shitty Sunday at the range for me,

John Laudicina

Bill Kelly has been selected as 2012 Sunshine State Games Male Athlete of the year by the Florida Sports Foundation.  He is an outstanding archer who shoots both Freestyle and Olympic Recurve (Freestyle Limited Recurve) events.  Bill has been an active competitor since he was 15 years old. More

FLORIDA ARCHERY ASSOCIATION
We are going to have a Team Trophy at the Field.  More details to follow.  Won by Gold Coast.  Second place - Aripeka, Third place - Ft Lauderdale.

NFAA National Meeting.  A lot of items passed (not all of them good).  Directors created a record number of classes/divisions.  The Senior age got moved to 50 and up, there is a new Senior division called Silver Seniors for 60 and up, Master Senior got moved to 70 and up.  Silver and Master Senior get all styles so you no longer have to shoot Freestyle, Limited Freestyle and Barebow to shoot Silver and Master Senior - you can shoot Bowhunter Freestyle, Traditional, Longbow etc..  Limited Freestyle Pro is back (for the 6 people in the country that shoot it).  Bowhunter Freestyle was added for Cub, Youth and Young Adult (we already had Youth and Young Adult here in Florida but now you get it at Sectional and National Shoots).  Pro's get the X ring as a point for Field and Hunter.  The regular score will be listed along with the X count and then combined for the total.  Traditional gets a 12 inch stabilizer (voted against it and was surprised it passed).  Oliver.

Ft Lauderdale was awarded the 2014 National Unmarked 3-D.  It will be held in April.

The NFAA National Indoor was awarded to Louisville for 2014, 2015 and 2016 and will be held

March 14 16, 2014, March 13 15, 2015 and March 18 20, 2016.

Ft Lauderdale has donated $100 to FAA to our scholarship fund from the State Marked 3-D at their club.

Louisville KY is booked for the NFAA National Indoor thru 2013

This year's dates are 26-27 March 2011

2012 and 2013 Vegas Shoots are at South Point Casino... Southpointcasino.com will give you information.  We toured the facility and the building makes the Riviera look small... they do indoor Rodeos at Southpoint.   There's a stadium indoors and two rooms the size of the Grand Ball Room at Riviera... that comes to about 200 butts.  The rooms look a lot more comfortable and the rates are better.  I think everyone will be happy with the new facility.

2011 NAFAC is at Everglades Archers in Homestead 9-11 Dec 2011

Point & Aim Real Properties is our KOA Campground on our property in Yankton.  We own 21% of the Campground and the Campground is completed.  Archers get a 10% discount.  The KOA Manager is Michelle Johnson who lives on site with husband and son.  6 cabins and lodges - 80 trailer sites.

2012 National Field will be in Mechanicsburg PA

2013 National Field will be in Darrington WA 24-28 July 2013 - 3 day 5 day wed thru sun.

2013 World Field will be at Yankton on IFAA dates...

Florida Senior games in 2011 and 2012 are in Polk County... 1st Saturday in December

2013 National Senior Games are 7/21 to 8/6 in Cleveland OH

2015 National Senior Games are in July in Minneapolis Minnesota

Tim.

NFAA's KOA Campground is operational and listed on the KOA website.  NFAA is a 20% minority owner.  All archers attending any of the Tournaments get a 10% archery discount at the KOA.

July and August are very warm here in Florida (yes, I'm telling you something that you already knew).  In an attempt to improve shooting and working conditions, we have moved State Championships out of July and August.

The way that I was previously placing pictures on the website was tedious and time consuming and as you have noticed I have not been posting them on the website for quite some time.  However, I have been saving all of the pictures that people have sent me waiting for time to place them on the website.

I appreciate all of the pictures that I have been sent and know that the you appreciate seeing them.

I am trying something new, quick and convenient (yes, there is such a thing) for pictures.  Every picture that I had waiting to be posted has now been posted and is viewable on the website.  Please take a look and see what you think.

That said.  We are now ready to post pictures quickly, conveniently and timely onto the website: so please send me your tired, your poor huddled pictures waiting to be viewed by all.

Take a look at www.floridaarchery.org/pictures.htm

Oliver

Splitting the Indoor did so well for the archers and for FAA that we are going to split another shoot this year as well.  Just in case you hadn't noticed travel is expensive.  Ft Lauderdale Archers and NADA in Newberry are going to split the NAA Indoor and the NFAA Indoor like we did this year.  Ft Lauderdale will be in February and Newberry will be in March.  Also Ft Lauderdale Archers and Gator Bowman are going to split the Marked 3-D.  That will be held on the same weekend with the same yardages and targets.

Any FAA member who wishes to forgo receiving a hard copy of the Release in the mail may do so by sending Tim an email requesting you be taken off the Release mailing list.

This needs to be passed around and acted upon -   It is specifically against NFAA rules to draw above horizontal... it's also against NAA rules.   The practice of drawing a bow up in the air is unsafe, and many archers do it due to heavy poundage or simply out of bad habit.   Pushing the bow out with the bow arm... or better yet, pushing it slightly downward... can assist in drawing it back.   One arrow loosed high in the air and killing or damaging property three blocks away can set our sport back for years... much less ruin the day of the individual with the bow and the individual harmed by it!

I have created a new page for Archery Instruction.  We get a lot of queries about archery coaching.  If you would like to be added, please let me know.

With new automatic SPAM blockers, many of our members aren't receiving messages I send out to FAA email list.   If you used to get emails from Tim and you haven't seen one lately your email might have Tim blocked out by your SPAM Blocker will either need to list me (flarchery@earthlink.net) as an acceptable incoming address or will need to go to the FAA Website to get current information.  Tim.
