2009 State FITA Field


TOURNAMENT DATES:  7-8 November 2009

SHOOTING RULES/INFORMATION:
DRESS CODE:  It's simple - no camo -- any color top,
white or dark blue bottoms (blue jeans are allowed for FITA Field, just not for FITA Indoor).

BOW WEIGHT:  Compound bows are restricted to 60# draw weight maximum!

ARROW SIZE:  Arrows are restricted to a maximum of 9.3 mm shaft diameter. With aluminum shafts, this would include all shafts of 23 diameter except the 2317.  Shafts currently produced in the 23 size
category and legal under the 9.3 mm rule are the 2312, 2314, and 2315 (as of 1 April 2001).  Anything larger is not legal.

No electronics!

BAREBOW:   Barebow division is limited to recurve bows.  (Compound Barebow shooters will be classified Compound-Fingers).  [Unbraced bow complete with accessories must be capable of passing through a hole or ring of 12.2cm inside diameter +/- 0.5mm] (that's approximately 4.8
inches) --  No stabilizers and no draw checks (no clickers).

DIRECTIONS:  The range is located 3.5 miles south of Ft. Meade on Highway 17 south.

PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  Mailed entries should be postmarked by November 1, 2009.

LATE-REGISTRATION:  Phoned registrations through 5 November 2009 accepted for a $2 surcharge payable at shoot.   Registration at the shoot requires full late fee at registration address or at range on Saturday.

SHOOTING SCHEDULE:    Talk at 8:00, shoot at 8:30.  We will shoot 2 24 target FITA Field round on Saturday and 1 on Sunday (12 marked and 12 unmarked each round - three arrows per target).

LUNCH:  Drinks and food will be available at the shoot.

Host Motel

Davis Bros Motor Lodge in Bartow has changed its name to Stay In & Suites -   same number 863-533-0711.   I asked if they had a special rate for Central Florida Bowhunters and they called me back with $52 of a single and $57 for a double plus tax... works out to $58.24 for the single and $63.84 for the double including tax. Current rates for Nov 2009.  1035 N Broadway, Bartow (13 miles from range) 863/533-0711 or 800/424-0711.  - Mention Central Florida Archers for this rate.  

Other hotels in the area.  Prices are very old.

Best Western Motel 863-773-2378 at 2727 Hwy 17, Bowling Green, Florida... about 4 miles South of the range.   The AAA (and the AARP) Rate there is $80.99/night wich works out to $86.66 including tax. Current Rate for Nov 2009.

Fort Meade Motel, 220 Charleston Ave N, Ft Meade (5 miles north of range) 863/285-8040.  Rates: $40.00 - 1 bed, $50.00 - 2 beds, $60.00 - 2 bedrooms.
Super 8 Motel, 2525 SR60, Mulberry (20 miles north west of range) 863/425-2500.  Rates: $60.00 - 2 dbl beds.
Colonial Arms in Wauchula (south of range) 863/773-9758
Footed Tub (Bed and Breakfast) Fort Green 877/664-8989 or 863/767-8989.

CAMPING SITE INFO:  Prices are very old.
Central Florida Archers has primitive camping on the range (no water and no power)
Hammock Lk Mobile Home Park, 1801 HWY 17, Ft Meade (1.5 miles north of range) 863/285-9560.  They have water and power hook up but no toilet facilities.  Rate is $17.50 per night.
River Valley RV Resort, 2555 HWY 17, Wauchula (15 miles south of range) 863/773-0088.  They have water and power hook-up, as well as restroom facilities.  Rate is $20.00 per night.

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION:  NAA or NFAA membership required.  Styles and Divisions
will be in accordance with NAA rules.  Pre-registration “no-shows” will receive refund less $2 processing fee.
