The Florida Archery Association invites archers from across Florida and the Southeast to compete in the 2026 FAA State / NFAA Southeast Sectional Target Championship. This year's championship will be conducted as a multi-site tournament, giving archers three locations and multiple dates from which to choose. All locations will shoot the traditional NFAA 900 Round under applicable FAA/NFAA tournament rules. Whether you are competing for a State Championship, Southeast Sectional recognition, or simply looking for a great outdoor target tournament, we welcome archers of all ages and recognized shooting styles.

PRE-REGISTRATION

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.

Advance registration helps the host clubs prepare target assignments and allows the tournament to begin on schedule. Phone registrations may be accepted up to two days before the applicable shoot date. A $2 surcharge applies to advance phone registrations paid at the tournament.

Your shooting position is not guaranteed until payment has been received.

LATE REGISTRATION

On-site registration may be available but will be subject to the applicable late-registration fee.

Whenever possible, please register and pay in advance.

PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  Mailed entries should be postmarked by October 8.

LATE-REGISTRATION:  Phone and Email registrations until 16 October accepted for a $2 surcharge payable at shoot.   Registration at the shoot requires full late fee at registration address or at range on Saturday.

SHOOTING SCHEDULE:   Saturday – 8:00 AM Announcements, 8:30 AM 900 Round or/and Sunday – 8:00 AM Announcements, 8:30 AM 900 Round.

LUNCH:  Drinks and food will be available at the shoot.

SHOOT ONE ROUND — OR SHOOT AGAIN!

The NFAA 900 is a one-round tournament, giving competitors flexibility in choosing where and when they compete. At Gold Coast and Gator Bowmen, archers may select either the Saturday or Sunday shooting session. Archers are also welcome to shoot a second round for an additional registration fee. A second round may be shot in a different shooting style or eligible age bracket.

There are no mulligans.

A second registration is an additional tournament entry and is not an opportunity to replace or improve the score from a previously completed round in the same entry. Please make sure you are properly registered for the appropriate age division, shooting style, and class for each entry.

THE NFAA 900 ROUND

The NFAA 900 Round is one of the most recognized outdoor target rounds in NFAA competition.

The round consists of:

90 Scoring Arrows
3 Distances
30 Arrows at Each Distance
Maximum Score: 900 Points

The tournament begins at the longest distance for the archer's age division and progresses toward the shortest distance.

SHOOTING DISTANCES

ADULT & YOUNG ADULT

60 yards → 50 yards → 40 yards

30 arrows at each distance

Total: 90 arrows

YOUTH — AGES 12–14

50 yards → 40 yards → 30 yards

30 arrows at each distance

Total: 90 arrows

CUB — AGES 8–11

30 yards → 20 yards → 10 yards

30 arrows at each distance

Total: 90 arrows

TARGETS & SCORING

The NFAA 900 Round is shot on the traditional NFAA multicolor target face.

Each arrow is scored according to the scoring area touched by the arrow shaft.

Archers and scorers should carefully verify each arrow before arrows are removed from the target.

INSIDE-OUT Xs MUST BE RECORDED

Competitors must record Inside-Out Xs for tie-breaking purposes.

For an arrow to qualify as an Inside-Out X, the arrow shaft must be completely inside the X-ring and must not touch the X-ring line.

Please make sure Inside-Out Xs are correctly recorded on the scorecard throughout the tournament.

WHAT TO BRING

This is an outdoor target archery tournament, so competitors should come prepared for Florida weather and a full outdoor round.

Recommended items include:

• Bow and competition equipment
• Sufficient arrows and spare arrows
• Release aid, finger tab, glove, or other equipment appropriate for your shooting style
• Quiver
• Binoculars or spotting scope
• Chair
• Water and drinks
• Sunscreen
• Hat
• Rain gear
• Appropriate outdoor clothing
• Bow tools and spare equipment

Weather conditions can change throughout a 900 Round. Be prepared for sun, heat, wind, and rain.

RANGE & SAFETY RULES

Safety is the responsibility of every competitor.

All archers must follow the commands of the Tournament Director, Range Officials, and Line Officials.

Do not approach the targets until the range has been declared safe.

Bows may only be drawn from the designated shooting line and in the direction of the targets.

Archers must remain behind the appropriate waiting line when they are not shooting.

Any unsafe conduct may result in removal from the shooting line or tournament in accordance with applicable FAA/NFAA rules.

SPORTSMANSHIP

The FAA State and NFAA Southeast Sectional Target Championship is a competitive event, but good sportsmanship is expected from every participant.

Please be respectful of fellow competitors, tournament officials, volunteers, and the host clubs that make these events possible.
