2008 Indoor Information - Southern Portion

State Indoor, State FITA Indoor. (The Northern portion will be held in Tallahassee on 7-9 March).

TOURNAMENT DATES:  15-17 February 2008

HOSTING CLUB:  Ft Lauderdale Archers

RANGE LOCATION:  Ft. Lauderdale Archers range.

RANGE MAP :  MAP

DIRECTIONS: 
    From I-95 Exit on Davie Blvd: Go West to Peters Rd. the range entrance will be on the Left hand side immediately past Peters Rd.

    From University Drive: Go eastbound on Davie Rd. Drive over the Turnpike overpass. Continue approximately 1.5 miles.  Just after the 7-11 (on your right) you will see the gated entrance to the club (on your left).

    From I-595: Exit onto 441 Northbound.  Turn left at Peters Rd (Davie Blvd) and continue approximately 1.5 miles.  Just after the 7-11 (on your right) you will see the gated entrance to the club (on your left).

PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  Mailed entries should be postmarked by February 7, 2008.

LATE-REGISTRATION:  Phoned and emailed registrations through 13 February 2008 accepted for a $2 surcharge payable at shoot.   Registration at the shoot requires full late fee at registration address or at range on Saturday.

LATE-REGISTRATION:  On site registration will have late registration fees.

SHOOTING SCHEDULE:    NFAA: Sat 8 AM,  Sat 11 AM, Sat 2 PM, Sun 8 AM, Sun 11 AM (pick two)
                                           NAA: Fri
7pm & Sat 5pm (double registration available i.e. shoot twice on same shooting time)

FOOD:  Clubs will be serving Breakfast and lunch during the shoot.   

ACCOMMODATIONS:  Host motel is the Best Western Plantation - 954-556-8200 - located at 1711 N. Universal Drive, Ft. Lauderdale, about 2.5 miles from the range.  The rate is $116 (if booked by Feb 5, 2008) a night plus tax.  Mention that you are with the NFAA/FAA Archery group to receive the discounted rates.

This is tourist season in South Florida.  An alternate motel located a ways away is the usual host motel in Florida City for $79/night (Last Years Rates) Fairway Inn, 100 US-1, Florida City.  Phone number is 1-888-340-4734 or 305-248-4202.  You must mention that you are with the Archery group to get the reduced rates of $79.00 per night plus tax.

CAMPING: Ft Lauderdale Archers will offer camping to anyone who has a camper or RV for a donation to the club for the weekend.

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION:  The FAA/NAA Indoor Championship will be held Friday 5 PM and Saturday 5 PM shooting two 18 meter FITA I rounds under NAA rules:-  Out of State NFAA and NAA guests are invited to participate with registration fee of $22.50, and archers will be required to conform to NAA dress code (white, khaki or navy pants) and shooting rules for that event.

NAA Requirements:

DRESS CODE:  It's simple - No blue jeans, no camo -- any color top,
white, khaki or dark blue bottoms.

BOW WEIGHT:  Compound bows are restricted to 60# draw weight maximum!

ARROW SIZE:  Arrows are restricted to a maximum of 9.3 mm shaft
diameter. With aluminum shafts, this would include all shafts of 23
diameter except the 2317.  Shafts currently produced in the 23 size
category and legal under the 9.3 mm rule are the 2312, 2314, and 2315
(as of 1 April 2001).  Anything larger is not legal.

NO ELECTRONICS!  This also means nothing electric on the bow to light up the sight.

TIME LIMIT:  2 Minutes for 3 arrows.  We will shoot AB/BA (alternate shooting first and second on
the line).

BAREBOW:   Barebow division is limited to recurve bows.  (Compound
Barebow shooters will be classified Compound-Fingers).  [Unbraced bow
complete with accessories must be capable of passing through a hole or
ring of 12.2cm inside diameter +/- 0.5mm] (that's approximately 4.8
inches) --  No stabilizers and no draw checks (no clickers).
