2008 State FITA

TOURNAMENT DATES:  6-7 September 2008

HOSTING CLUB:  The Villages Archery Club

RANGE LOCATION:  The Villages Archery Club at their permanent FITA Range ...  within sight of the joining of Paradise Drive and Aloha Way at Lady Lake, FL 32159 (The Villages) -- The archery range is located just North of the Villages golf cart bridge on the East side of route 441/27.  Enter at the Boone gate which is located about 1/2 mile North of the golf cart bridge.  Turn right at the first street past the gate (Paradise Drive) and drive straight to the range (just beyond Aloha Way). --  On Mapquest... enter W Boone Ct & Paradise Dr, The Villages FL 32159.


DRESS CODE:  It's simple - No blue jeans, no camo -- any color top,
white, khaki or dark blue bottoms.

BOW WEIGHT:  Compound bows are restricted to 60# draw weight maximum!

ARROW SIZE:  Arrows are restricted to a maximum of 9.3 mm shaft
diameter. With aluminum shafts, this would include all shafts of 23
diameter except the 2317.  Shafts currently produced in the 23 size
category and legal under the 9.3 mm rule are the 2312, 2314, and 2315
(as of 1 April 2001).  Anything larger is not legal.

NO ELECTRONICS!  This also means nothing electric on the bow to light up the sight.

TIME LIMIT:  4 Minutes for 6 arrows (day 1) and 2 Minutes for 3 arrows
(day 2).  We will shoot AB/BA (alternate shooting first and second on
the line).

BAREBOW:   Barebow division is limited to recurve bows.  (Compound
Barebow shooters will be classified Compound-Fingers).  [Unbraced bow
complete with accessories must be capable of passing through a hole or
ring of 12.2cm inside diameter +/- 0.5mm] (that's approximately 4.8
inches) --  No stabilizers and no draw checks (no clickers).

PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  Mailed entries should be postmarked by August 30, 2008.

LATE-REGISTRATION:  Phoned registrations through 5 September 2008 accepted for a $2 surcharge payable at shoot.   Registration at the shoot requires full late fee at registration address or at range on Saturday.

SHOOTING SCHEDULE:    Saturday, 8:30 AM – 1/2 FITA Round:   Sunday, 8:30 AM – 1/2 FITA Round.

LUNCH:  Drinks and food will be available at the shoot.


MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION:  Ranges are handicap accessible. NAA or NFAA membership required.  Money and trophy class will be per NAA by-laws.  Pre-registration “no-shows” will receive refund less $2 processing fee.
